| Genital Mutilation is the procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia. It has been practised as a cultural ritual by many ethnic groups for centuries. Although there is no mention of it in the Bible or Quran, religious leaders incorporated it to their traditions so as to reduce female sexual desire and to promotie female virginity and fidelity. This mutilation has a number of immediate and late health complications. |
